COVID-19 has affected us all, and our sympathies to anyone who lost a loved one. Thankfully all our employees are safe and healthy. But as a small business of less than 100 people, our American-based manufacturing, shipping and fulfillment abilities were hit hard by supply chain disruption, physical distancing measures and retail closures resulting from the pandemic. If not for the help of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan program established by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help small businesses like ours, our company would have struggled financially. We are using the funds to ensure we can continue to pay our employees and provide health care benefits at this challenging time. While our plant closed briefly, we reopened after taking measures to keep our employees safe.
During this time we have taken the opportunity to refocus on our priorities. We continue to innovate new products to protect you, your family, and your devices. Stay tuned for a new product announcement later this month.
Because of our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, their families, and our customers, we already had a supply of N95 masks before the pandemic hit in the US. The brief closure of the plant gave us the ability to donate masks to local hospitals and clinics who had a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment. We have even been able to work behind the scenes, helping another small business to produce and distribute masks. We help protect our community because it is an integral part of our company’s mission of protecting more than your phone.
We began the company with our high-quality Screen protectors and later pioneered screen insurance with our Guardplus™ program to ensure both you and your device are covered, no matter what happens. Then, in 2019, after years of research and development, we introduced groundbreaking mobile radiation protection products with alara technology, giving you more tools to protect you and your family’s health from potentially harmful mobile RF radiation.
Along with radiation reduction technology, our Gadget Guard device cases with alara provide yet another layer of physical protection to your device, helping you keep your device in working condition, out of a landfill, and reducing waste for a healthier environment. We are taking other measures to reduce the impact of our environmental footprint, such as using more sustainable materials and reducing waste.
Now we are developing our newest product, Tech-Clean, a device disinfectant spray that is EPC-certified and proven to kill 99.9% of germs and viruses, including COVID-19.
We are more committed than ever to raising the bar for the safe and healthy use of mobile devices by continually developing new technology, materials, and products.
